Freaks and Geeks

Please, if you intend on buying an army inspired jacket for fall, go to your local army surplus store first. If you are patient enough, you can find a great jacket for a fraction of the price - I was lucky enough to get one for $12.99 this weekend. Good luck finding one in your size.

Twenty-Seven Names

In the midst of enjoying my evening tea and idly browsing through various websites, I came across this and thought I would share it with you. Not to distract from how grateful I am that it is still Summer, but I have completely fallen in love with the twenty-seven names Winter 2010 collection. I know, the last thing I want is to go back to Winter weather but... just see for yourself. Click here to view BUTTER NOT BOMBS.

Authenticity Is Invaluable

I just stumbled across the lovely blog: Vodka Latte Freshly Squeezed. I don't know how good that sounds to be honest. I like my lattes with soy, and my vodka plain. Never the less it is a cute site, and I fell in love with this polka dots and docs photo. The Jim Jarmusch quote was thrown in there for good measure. I'd be interested to hear what you think. Is originality non-existent? Hmm...

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said “It’s not where you take things from, it’s where you take them to.” - Jim Jarmusch
