Love, Love, Love

Though I'm in this strictly for the money, it's nice to know that every so often someone out there might actually find enjoyment in my blog. Or at least a way to pass the time. Looking at the map under "show some love" and finding that there is another star, marking a visitor from a distant place I can only dream of seeing one day, has become an obsession of mine. So I just wanted to say thanks. Whoever you are.

Love, love, love.
Love, love, love.

Marlboro Red

For me, nothing is more devestating than the thought that Amy Winehouse may not be able to continue making music. A tad hyberbolic, I know. But this legitimately upsets me on days like today when I find myself listening to her albums on repeat.
Kids... don't do drugs.

Required listening: You Sent Me Flying/Cherry, I Heard Love Is Blind, Some Unholy War (Acoustic), Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Valerie, Love Is A Losing Game (this video is a must watch), and Wake Up Alone.

LOOKBOOK.nu

Now that I am a member of the "collective fashion consciousness" community lookbook.nu, there are a few things that need to happen before I can start posting looks:

1. Get a camera
2. Figure out a number of awkward/dainty/aloof ways to stand
3. Remember where I put my tripod and/or hire a photographer*
4. Decide whether I even want to post looks

As much as I enjoy browsing through the many great looks on lookbook.nu, it just seems so time consuming to actually do it. Looking through my closet and deciding what to wear, finding some place to shoot, pretending to look cool (sounds exhausting). I mean, I have enough trouble deciding what to wear just to get my morning coffee. Well, in any case - I won't be posting looks any time soon. A camera is pretty essential.

Invite code anyone?

Just Three Guys: A Tribute

The Lonely Island. Back in 2001, The Lonely Island was nothing more than three friends with film/theatre degrees, too much spare time, and a videocamera. Ever since Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer landed spots on SNL as writers, and Andy Samberg joined the SNL cast - it has been a slippery slope.

Now, like most people with a sense of humour and an internet connection will tell you, I loved: Lazy Sunday, Dick In A Box, Jizz In My Pants, and I’m On A Boat (T-Pain kicked the shit out of that bridge, let's be honest). I just can't help but be disappointed by some of their work that fell short such as We Like Sportz, Space Olympics, and their most recent fail called Boombox - the song that sparked this post. I love Jorma, Kiv, and Andy. I just want them to be better. After looking around a little bit I found a link to their old website, where I first fell in love with The Dudes. I highly recommend checking it out. Not to be missed: Bing Bong Brothers, Stork Patrol, Peppers, Just Two Guys, The Heist, Ardy Pardy, White Power, and Regarding Ardy. That's right, it's 2001 and I refuse to come back.
