What About Breakfast At Tiffany's?

I hope this post finds you all well and recovering after the May 24 weekend. Personally, the only thing that needs recovering after the long weekend is my wallet. Since being home I have spent an unreasonable amount of time downtown "window shopping". Mysteriously, I always seem to come home with something. I swear, these shirts and shorts and shoes just find their own way into my purse. It's like they know I'll give them a good home (though, clearly not as good of a home as they'd find with Rumi of Fashion Toast... to have that wardrobe, just look at those Miu Miu's).

But don't worry, I'm actually being pretty good. And I've managed to find some pretty sweet pieces without going broke (and by that I mean using up all the money that is supposed to pay for my Spring/Summer course). Could be worse, right?

SIDENOTE! I just realized that I almost have 40 followers. A modest milestone for some, but completely amazing for me. Thanks to anyone out there who has followed/taken the time to look at my blog. My heart is bursting. I wonder who my 40th follower will be...

Festival Express

The third collaboration between Designers Against Aids and H&M is set to be launched today, and I don't know about you but I'm excited to go check it out. Inspired by the upcoming concert/festival season, the Fashion Against AIDS Festival Collection even includes lawn chairs and tents. I don't know how well the tents will hold up against the elements or, say, a bear attack - but if you do insist on having the most fashionable tent on the campground at least it's for a good cause. As usual, a portion of the sales price will be donated to four organizations fighting HIV/AIDS among young people: UNFPA, MTV Staying Alive, YouthAIDS and (of course) Designers Against AIDS. But remember, it launches today and if I learned anything from the H&M Garden Collection it was that if you really want something go... now.

Lady Alice In Wonderland

Something I'd like to do from time to time is highlight bloggers who inspire me, and there are few ladies out there more inspiring than Alice of Alice Point. Self proclaimed "shopaholic", Alice skillfully combines pieces with high and low price points to create outfits that are just beautiful. With many of her most notable finds from stores like H&M and Zara, Alice makes is easy for her readers to find those same pieces and make them their own. Another great thing about Lady Alice is how she reincorporates key pieces in different outfits, creating a look that is instantly recognizable and almost iconic (e.g. her oversized cross necklace, twisted headband, draped head scarf). Edgy, feminine, inspiring, modest - Polish blogger Alice of Alice Point is not to be missed.

Train Wheels Beating, Wind In My Eyes

Finally. After an impossibly busy week, full of exams and packing and unpacking and porch crawling, I am free. Few things in life are better than that feeling you get when you know you're going home after a long time away. Though I actually enjoy travelling (people watching in passenger waiting areas, airport souvenir shops, the smell of fresh coffee brewing on the train), nothing beats being home. I'm on the train right now, heading for Toronto. Were it not for the little punk sitting beside me currently freaking out because his gameboy ran out of batteries, I would be perfectly content. I wonder if he can see what I'm typing...

My only plans for this summer are: practice practice practice playing my guitar, and sit on patios like it's my job. What about you?
